  1. Pier 39 Sea Lions

While strolling around Fisherman’s Wharf, one of San Francisco’s most popular areas, don’t forget to stop by Pier 39 to see the sea lions. These creatures aren’t in any zoo or exhibit. In 1990, the sea lions began to emerge on their own at Pier 39’s docks. While there were only a few dozen of them at first, the population soon grew to more than 300.

Every winter, their population can grow by up to 900! Because they’ve become so well-known in the metropolis, some people now call these sea lions “Sea Lebrities.” You’ll also have stunning views of the harbor, including the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. This is a fun and free activity that your entire party will enjoy, as well as a true San Francisco experience.

  1. The Palace of Fine Arts

An engraving of a Roman ruin reflected in a swimming pool influenced the design. Even when there are a lot of people, the space stays calm and serene. Ducks and fish swim in the pond, and beautiful homes line the opposing side of the street. This is an excellent location for a lunch or stopping to take it all in. It’s also nearby to the ocean and the Golden Gate Bridge, so there’s plenty to see in the area. In San Francisco, this is a must-see!

  1. The Stoic Redwoods

Hyperiid stands 379 feet tall, which is 64 feet higher than the Statue of Liberty! While most redwoods do not grow to that height, they are known as the biggest and largest trees on the planet. According to the US National Park Service, the biggest living thing on Earth is a Redwood named “General Sherman.” This tree is not as tall as Hyperion, but its trunk is 100 feet in diameter! The sheer size of these trees is breathtaking, and there are big and impressive forests close to San Francisco. As a result, they are both very “doable” complete or half-day day trips from San Francisco!
